Joe brings over 30 years experience, across the full range of disciplines–from Technology, Data, Operations and P&L Management in a range of sectors including, FS, Data, Tech, Professional Services and Exchanges.
Joe has a portfolio of roles at KPMG including Head of TMT for EMA, as well as Lead Partner on Financial Services Strategy. Additionally, Joe has held the Head of Corporate Strategy role for KPMG’s UK business.
Joe is highly collaborative in style, and experienced in C suite and Government Stakeholder Management as well as mobilizing teams on an international basis to solve for challenges and opportunities.
Joe also co-sponsors the firm’s initiatives on “dual-use” technologies and investments with the Head of Industrials & Defence, and has worked with a number of Boards and Executive teams across the market, in developing their positioning and narrative vis-à-vis M&A and organic business development.
Joe has led a number of significant M&A Integration programmes focused on Value Creation, Revenue Synergies creation and new business development, including on LSEG/Refinitiv and Nomura/Lehman.
In terms of broader industry roles, Joe is a member of the Capital Markets Industry Taskforce in the UK (CMIT – Capital Markets Industry Taskforce) as well as Chair of the UK-Swiss Market Advisory Group and has been instrumental in driving the development of a dynamic Financial Services Agreement and FTA between the two countries.
Joe has recently also been appointed co-Chair of the UK’s Defence & Resilience Financing Committee with General Sir Richard Barrons for TheCityUK – this pulls together FS, Primes, Technology, Data, Infrastructure & Utilities to address the Financing of UK security and resilience.
Prior to KPMG, Joe performed a number of Advisory, Trading and Market Structure roles across a range of Global Banks, was a Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group, a Senior Advisor at a number of Global Exchange Groups on Strategy, Tech Investment Portfolio Advisor for Sapient / Publicis.
Joe has been an investor in early stage companies since the late 90’s, and been part of a leadership team which successfully grew and listed a UK software and services company.
Having originally trained as a software engineer in the fields of networks design, secure payments and cryptography, Joe is passionate and pragmatic about technology being an accelerator of change
