Barry Chapman is Vice President and General Manager U.S. Industries at Siemens Digital Industries Software. He leads a business unit focused on major industries including Aerospace & Defense, Marine, U.S. Federal Government, Automotive and Transportation sectors. His organization assists U.S. manufacturing companies leverage digital technologies to better design, optimize, manufacturing and sustain products that have a positive, healthy impact on how humans travel, function and interact on a more sustainable environment on earth and in space.
He is responsible for the P&L of customer facing organization including sales, marketing execution, technical operations, and consulting service. Barry has spent his career collaborating with innovative companies to provide software solutions that help companies design, manufacture, and support their products in a way to gain a competitive advantage through product and process innovation. Barry had roles of increasing responsibility within Siemens PLM Software and the acquired companies of SDRC, EDS and UGS since 1997. Prior to working in enterprise software, he started his career at United Technologies, Otis Elevator.
Barry is on the advisory board of the Virtual Prototyping of Ground Systems (VIPR-GS) Center at Clemson University. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marquette University and an MBA from DePaul University. Barry and his wife Christy live in Oak Park, IL with their three children. He makes impressive chili, looks forward to any time he can bike outside, loves to see the world traveling especially when he has packed flip flops or ski boots, and cherishes the time laughing while hearing stories from his family or friends.
