Gareth is the UK CIO for Leonardo UK. Gareth oversees the Digital Solutions function and has accountability for all IT, Data and Digital Transformation across Leonardo UK. Gareth is keen to pioneer digital technology across the Defence industry including the early adoption of Public Cloud, Data and A.I technologies.
Following a short career in the Royal Air Force, Gareth joined Rolls-Royce. Over a 10-year period, Gareth held a series of roles within programme management, aftermarket services, strategic operations and IT. His roles in digital technology include IT Business Partner, Head of IT — Submarines, Global Head of IT – Defence and UK CIO. Since leaving his regular RAF career, Gareth spent 12 years as an Army Reservist.
Gareth is also a Director of the Team Defence Information (TD-lnfo) and chairs the industry CIO forum.
